Triple D Motosport Astley Cup Trial

Sunday 17th June 2012

Type: Trial (Bike)
Status: Open

Details

This is a open trial which will now start at Cartmel Racecourse, but run some of the original route. This is the first time here for this event and we hope to use the best of the land we used for the old Sammy Miller round as well as the good bits of the Astley that was when it started from Witherslack. The first rider is away at 10-00am. This is a PRE ENTRY event with entries closing on Monday 11th June or when full, entry limit is 120. The route will be one lap of about 35 sections, with a mixture of Rocks, Streams and Mud. There will be 3 courses Hard, Green and Easy, a legal fuel can maybe required. The entry will open in May for this very popular event, don't be disappointed, enter as soon as the regs are available to avoid disappointment. Martha will be in attendance all day with his usual hot and cold food and refreshment service. Secretary: Margaret Brown 16 Hayfell Rise Kendal Cumbria LA9 7JP 07798 763606. Regs and entry form available here in May as a download and also in the calendar section on trials central. (www.trialscentral.com)

Cartmel Racecourse

Directions: Take the Exit slip road off the A590 to the left at the top of the Lindale bypass. When you leave it will drop down to a Giveway junction after 50 meters, at the giveway, turn left. Follow this road for about a mile where it will come to a crossroads, at the crossroads, turn left. Follow this road for about a mile where you will come to a junction, at the junction, turn left. Follow this road and it will bring you into the village of Cartmel, progress through the village till you find the spar on the right, where you will turn right, between the Spar and the Pig & Whistle pub. After 100meters turn right at the junction. Follow this road into centre of the village, over a small bridge and into the square where the pubs are.... As you come out of the square take the road to the left, (looks like a small lane, its to the left of the village shop) this leads across the racecourse and into a gravel carpark. Go through the carpark, (little tip!) keep to right side of carpark and you avoid the gates.... follow track round to left where there is a toilet block and a Scout hut. Park in this area nose or back to the racecourse fence. Depending on when you travel, this should all be signed from the A590.
